Finding the Clamshell

The Clamshell is beautifully positioned in the ancient heart of Mousehole, very near to “Keigwin”, reputed to be the only building not burned down by Spanish invaders in the 16th century!  It is therefore also very close to the original harbour steps: great for an early morning swim – especially when the tide is high.

The map above is (no surprise!) a Google maps extract, and of course if you click on “Directions” or “View larger map”, you will be taken to the Google Maps website so you can find your way there from wherever you wish.

Google Maps will usually do a decent job of taking you to our front door in your car – you can stop there for a while to unload your bags – but it currently has incorrect data about the harbourside footpath which connects our cottage to the most convenient car park on the South Quay: “The Wharf” is only about 100m long, but it is NOT a road, it’s a footpath, so to drive there, you’ll have to go back out through Grenfell Street then to the top of Mill lane before turning south.
